Short and Sweet or Just Sweet
It’s August already and it’s that time of the month again. Yep, it’s the One Floor Up Newsletter a.k.a. The Studio Pulse. If you like it short and sweet feel free to read the next two sentences and call it a day.
It’s August. It’s hot and we’re busy as hell!
But if you’re the kind that just wants pure sweetness, then by all means, keep reading.
First, August has traditionally been a slow month for us. Considering how hard we work the rest of the year, that’s not a bad thing. Incidentally, we tend to plan our annual anniversary party right around this slow time as well (click here for the invite video and details, you’re welcome in advance). We’ve also been doing a little vacationing that has had us all over the place, so trying to find a unified theme for this newsletter proved a bit challenging. But since my job is to take these lemons and make some delicious lemonade, that’s just what I’m going to do.
So, to address that first point above about us being slow in August, I lied. We are busy as s%*t. But busy doesn’t even begin to cover it. We are absolutely slammed and we love it. We’re in various stages of production with several our favorite clients. We’ve got a massive post-project happening. We’ve got some TV spots in the works for one, several tourism videos for another, a big event piece and some great motion graphics spots happening. And we just finished up a series of videos with our main talent in what could be construed as a NSWF outfit that is actually, very SFW, home or anywhere else for that matter. We also did something awesomely cool and “bouncy” and when I say “bouncy,” I do mean “bouncy.”
Now as a side note, I know that was all kinds of vague, but we value our client’s privacy and we don’t like to show anything until it’s ready for primetime, but I promise you we’ve got some great work coming down the pike and we can’t wait to share it. As a second side note, just because we’re busy doesn’t mean we don’t have time for you, if you’ve got the need for the One Floor Up goods, please give us a call so we can help get you exactly where you need to be.
And now to our second point from above, the vacations. You see, based on that first (now false) statement about August being a little slow, several of us scheduled a couple of days of vacation time that was non-refundable… and here we go. Andrew went to North Carolina. Jon went to New York to see his parents. Rachel went to Breckenridge. Jana had a family reunion somewhere in middle America. I threw a surprise party for my parents 50th anniversary in TX and Heather went moose spotting, whatever the hell that is. Blake moved, but we can’t really call that vacation can we. Alex didn’t go anywhere, but he just bought a new house, so we’ll excuse him this one time. And Daniel, is the only one that didn’t hit the road, but obviously somebody needed to stay here and hold down the fort.
Sleep is for suckers. Until next time………..
